5 ways to put a ‘spring’ in your step this season

Spring is one of our favourite seasons. It’s a time of lighter evenings, alfresco dining and the arrival of some pretty cute animals. The emergence of warmer weather is often exactly what we need to kick the winter blues and make a fresh start. And what better time to start fresh than spring?

Whether cleaning the house, experimenting with a new wardrobe or taking up competitive running (or jogging, we are only human, right?), spring is the perfect time to do it. So, to get you started we have listed our top 5 ways to put a ‘spring’ in your step this season:

1. Give your feet some lovin’

Let’s be honest, most of the winter is spent wrapping ourselves up in a thousand and one layers to ward off the brisk weather, and so the last thing we want to think about is how our feet look.

But with the warmer weather comes the resurgence of sandals, beach trips and barefoot wanders, putting your feet, once again, centre stage.

Although their upkeep can seem pretty daunting at first, a simple pedicure is all you need to get those toes looking good as new.

If you’re after a more subtle and classic look, opt for a peach or ocean blue polish. But if you’re looking for something with a little more ‘je ne sais quoi’, try a metallic, iridescent or deep berry tone. You’ll feel like a new person and your feet will be eternally grateful.

Check out Immerse Nail and Beauty and Professionail, as they have some awesome deals this season.

2. Experiment with a new ‘look’

Tired of your current locks?

A stylish, on-trend haircut could be just what you need to feel refreshed for the new season.

Whether it’s getting that bob you’ve always dreamt of, adding some buttery highlights for that extra glow, or if you fancy trying on brunette for a while, with Rodney Wayne, Vivo Salon, and Just Cuts, we have everyone covered! Book a free consultation or pop in for a chat with one of their friendly stylists.

Not feeling a haircut? Maybe a new wardrobe will do the trick.

This season is all about bold prints, matching sets and colour pop shoes. On main street you’ll find some amazing designer shops like George Edward, Caroline Eve, After Hours and Urban Vogue. Pick up a slip skirt, printed tee and fabulous jacket, then finish it off with a beautiful bold shoe from Tangos Shoes and … voila.

3. Dive into a new book

Is it really spring without a juicy book to read?

It’s time to throw out that intense psychological thriller you promised yourself you were going to read over winter and make some room for relaxing beach reads, biographies and maybe a romance novel (or two). Not sure what to read? Paper Plus to the rescue.

From science fiction to self-help and cook books, there is sure to be something that tickles your fancy. So grab your new book, find a cosy chair and soak up the rays.

4. Create a funky outdoor space

Remember that thing outside that you used to hang out in last summer?

That’s right, we’re talking about your garden. The sunny season is the perfect excuse to deck out your outdoor area and create a cool, functional space for the whole family.

Adding potted plants, textured rugs and wooden elements such as this epic hanging chair, will create an indoor-outdoor flow and make the space warm and inviting. Kmart has an extensive range of outdoor furniture and accessories to inject some personality into your space. For something a little more bespoke, check out Options Gifts & Homewares.

5. Keep it fresh

It’s time to bid farewell to hotpot stews and ‘spag bol’ and say hello to fresh salads and veggies.

When the heatwave hits, the last thing you will want to eat is something hot and heavy. So, try experimenting with some new recipes. Introducing one totally new ingredient each week is a fun way to keep things interesting.

Want to take it one step further? Plant a veggie garden!

Great for kids and adults alike! As well as being a satisfying hobby, growing your own fruit and vegetables is an easy and sustainable solution for your home (and it tastes better too). Hammer Hardware has a range of seedlings to choose from and starter kits to get your garden thriving.

So there you have it - our top 5 tips to put a ‘spring’ in your step this season.

We look forward to seeing you ‘springing’ around the Centre!
