8 Top-Tips for these school holidays

With the school holidays now upon us… the possibility of rain = dread of being stuck inside for days? General pandemonium?

At Bethlehem Town Centre we are all about you and your family, so we decided to put our heads together and come up with a bunch of fun activites to keep the kids (and you) happy these school holidays.

We’ve also planned some of our very own free activities to help you on your way - did someone mention superhero training?!?

1. Arts and crafts

Kmart, Clever Kids and Paper Plus have heaps of options to keep you covered. Paper, ribbons, pipe cleaners, cotton balls, glitter, glue, stickers, the list goes on… For example Kmart has a stunning range of pre-made plaster cast figures for little (or big) hands to paint all for $5 per set. Mermaids, animals, dinosaurs and sea life.

2. Active play + coffee for you

Enjoy our playground and get the kids a fluffy from one of the near by cafes - Columbus Coffee or The Coffee Club.

3. Books galore

Clever Kids and Paper Plus have literally hundreds of books to encourage your little bookworms - did you know: 59% of adults say they read more books as adults than they did as a child, because they get to choose what they read. Why not give the kids a budget and let them pick their own book?

4. Construction and games

Again Clever Kids, Kmart and Paper Plus have tonnes of options! Including this beautiful Go Mat from Clever Kids for $69.00 to make tidying-up that little bit easier.

5. Home movie time

For those those long rainy days. Why not make some popcorn, pull a mattress into the lounge and get cosy. Visit the Movie Outlet Store here at the Centre and browse over 15,000 ex rental DVD movies for sale at bargain prices.

Find them next to Furniture Zone and choose that special blockbuster movie  to keep the kids entertained.

Also, if you spend $100 at the Bethlehem Town Centre Movie Outlet Store these school holidays, you’ll get 10 extra DVD’s free.

6. Check out Bethlehem Town Centre’s Free entertainment

The Superheros Training Academy on the 19th and 21st July, and the Frozen Show with Elsa, Anna and Olaf on 20th and 22nd July. Showtimes are 11am and 1pm.

Bring the kids down to spend time with their favourite characters and villains, there'll be games, photo opportunities, sing-alongs and crime fighting!

Shows take place next door to Pathlab and as we're raising money for CureKids NZ, there will be an optional gold coin donation.

7. Enjoy a family lunch

We've got tonnes of food outlets at Bethlehem Town Centre, why not try Hello Sushi or Burger Fuel maybe?

8. Picnic with the kids, at home or out and about

Stop in at Bethlehem Countdown and let them choose the ingredients and get cooking-up a storm in the kitchen. Be ready for a culinary adventure!

School holidays are for memory making. Whatever you end up doing - enjoy!
