Christmas Shopping ideas for all budgets

It's here, our favourite festive season.

Bring on the summer days and Christmas shopping lists.

However you view Christmas shopping, we want to make it an enjoyable time where you can feel relaxed and under control. And of course, pick presents that are just perfect for your family and friends no matter what your budget.

So why not read on for present inspiration to make Christmas shopping more enjoyable, without all the stress that comes with it.

Present inspo

It’s best to start with a rough idea of what you’re looking for. So to get you in the mood, here’s some present inspiration ideas. Skim down the list for who you need to buy for and see if any of these ideas suit them.

For Her.

Options Gifts and Homewares has something for every female. Candles and diffusers from Living Light and Glasshouse Fragrances. There’s an amazing selection of Christmas decorations too. Plant pots and vases from French Country Beau. A pretty variety of gifts that will put a smile on her face this Christmas.

She will go nuts over an Immerse Nail and Beauty Therapy voucher to use on whatever they like. Treat them to a massage, a pedicure or facial.

Wildsouth has beautiful summer clothing.  Neutral colours, gorgeous fabrics and simple designs, perfect for keeping her cool in the hot months to come.

And if she’s into her cooking, then a cookbook might be perfect.  There’s an amazing array of books to choose from at Paper Plus with authors such as Nadia Lim, Jamie Oliver or Pete Evans.

There is an array of boutique fashion stores.  Why not buy her a gift card from George Edward, Urban Vogue or Afterhours.  They have an array of beautiful, affordable designer clothes.

Also don’t forget Vivo Hair and Rodney Wayne have some fantastic gift packs available in store now.

For Him.

Smith City caters for the techy and the outdoorsy male. They have all the latest electrical equipment including Beats Audio headphones, Fitbit watches and UE Boom speakers. And for heading away this summer they’ve got tents, air beds, camping chairs and BBQs.

If he’s a phone fanatic then a phone accessory from Omnitech would be ideal. They have every phone accessory you can think of including phone cases and handsfree kits.

Hammer Hardware is full of knowledgeable, helpful staff to help you find the perfect gift for him. Anything DIY or garden orientated, they have it and it’ll keep him occupied during summer.

For the kids.

Whether they’re into crafts, sports, fashion or outdoor games, Kmart has it all. You’ll be able to put together a combo of gifts that will light them up on Christmas day.

For games galore, head to Gateway Games or Paper Plus. Gateways games caters for the Star Wars fanatic and Paper Plus has all your board games and Wasgij puzzles.

For the fur babies.

Don’t forget the fur babies of the family. You know how cute they would look in a Christmas outfit from Kmart. And you can keep them cool with the Kmart portable pet bath.

Don’t forget to treat yourself

It’s always good having something to work towards. Plan your shopping day and factor in breaks. This will make shopping a lot more enjoyable and manageable.

Plan a coffee break or lunch at Columbus Coffee, The Coffee Club or The Orchard Bar & Restaurant to refuel.

And before you even think about heading out for Christmas shopping, make a list of everyone you need to buy for. Then, beside their name put a budgeted amount and an idea or two for what you’re looking for. Having a budget means you can easily rule out things you might come across if they’re too expensive, thus avoiding spending more than you can afford.

Santa’s coming to Town!

We’ll once again have Santa onsite for photos from Dec 7 through to Dec 24, daily from 10am to 4pm at the Children’s playground.  As well as our beautiful gift wrapping service that requires a gold coin donation that goes to Cure Kids NZ.

We hope you’ll enjoy the Centre’s Christmas outdoor festive feel when you’re here. And make sure you check out our Facebook page for all that’s going on over the holiday season.

Happy Shopping.
